On my way to Mexico, sitting in first class (thank you FF miles) the beginning of a great long weekend no doubt…
WOW! This resort is gorgeous! A definite upgrade from the Bahamas –cheers to 100hookup organizers! Did I mention I have a huge jacuzzi bathtub in the middle of my room?
A lot of familiar faces and a lot of new ones too. This is going to be fun…off to the beach for now! The afternoon sped away with a frozen daiquiri in hand as I caught up with friends at the pool.
Cocktail hour/Dinner–In a chill mood and acclimating to being on “vacation” after traveling all day. But who are we kidding it is a singles trip after all and it is the first day, lots of looking and fun flirting with new friends. Not to mention my first ever shot of tequila– it is Mexico after all?
A special cheers for Mr. Rockstar, for getting Randi, Mer and I OFF, we were being bitten alive… must be our sweet blood.
A great first evening in Mexico, at a great resort with old and new friends…priceless…
See you tomorrow…

Relationships
I distinctly remember one of the first conversations I had with an ex as we walked along the beach in Mexico. He asked, “Do you think the person you marry will be your greatest love?” It was very insightful, so, I pondered this question. My gut instinctual response was: Probably not, but I will marry the best “life partner” for me. First know, there are few people as corny, cheesy, romantic as I. That said, I am also a realist. These two personality traits often conflict with each another.
I think the adrenaline rushes we got as kids are irreplaceable memories. For example, think of the first time you thought your heart was broken and life would never be the same. Somehow, you managed and moved on. There will be some relationship memories that stick just because they do. The intensity, the passion, the excitement, the differences, the drama, the attraction, and so on… Yet, those people, no matter how deep your love is, may not make the best life partners. So I guess although my answer was instinctual–I think for me, the most important qualities in a life partner are 1) attraction (most agree that is one thing you are not supposed to go out of the marriage for), and 2) someone who you work well with as a team, has a similar outlook on life as you. There will be so many other bumps in the road, so creating drama yourself is not a bonus in the ride of life that said, settling is not an option, no matter how old you are. I guess the answer to everything in life, is the “compromise” between attraction/passion and finding someone you are “in sync” with.

Spring break is in full swing and it’s made bottled blondes and faux tanning as American as apple pie (with a slightly greater health risk than those oh-so-totally-worth-it calories). So as seems to be a recurring theme with my life lately, I am in serious need of an adventure, a change, and clearly a tan before my porcelain skin is replaced with a bronze glow and “pale is the new tan” is no longer making headlines. Lucky for me, 100hookup has conveniently planned a pseudo-spring break for Memorial Day weekend and I am more than on board! I have recruited my fave wing girl, and we’re both excited to leave Los Angeles behind in favor of a trendier resort locale. So, I am advising that you all consider doing the same as well; Palm Desert and Sin City were clearly so 2008 anyway. Before you pack the SPF and leave Los Scandalous to join Jimmy Buffet’s search for his lost shaker of salt, I advise that you prepare yourself for a UV saturated sea-soaked good time. The countdown is on and I have two months until the BFF and I leave sunny So Cal in the hopes of becoming sun lightened in Cancun. Viva Mexico, margaritas and Monsieur Cuervo.
