In the summer of 2004, Jim and a few others contacted me, but somehow, I didn't notice any of their messages until a month had gone by. I replied to all of them, apologizing for the unintended non-response. By that time, we each began seeing someone else.
A year later, Jim emailed me again and asked if I remembered him, and we had a phone call. Jim kept me laughing for almost an hour. A few days later, we met for coffee, and we've been together ever since. We couldn't believe we'd never met before; Jim's route to work takes him a block away from my condo, and Austin has a modest-sized hookup community (which is growing rapidly).
