Sivanne and Josh: “I was a 100hookup neophyte.”
My fiancée and I met on 100hookup in August 2013 in San Francisco. Sivanne was a Bay Area native who lived in Northern California her whole life; I had just recently moved to San Francisco to pursue a new job opportunity. Sivanne was a more veteran user of 100hookup than I; she had previously been on several dates with other individuals before she and I met. I, on the other hand, was a total neophyte when it came to 100hookup; Sivanne was the first person (and as it would turn out, the only person) on 100hookup with whom I went on a date.
Sivanne and I initially messaged each other briefly and made plans to meet up for a first date. Being new to the area, I had no idea where to take a girl on a date, so I untraditionally let Sivanne plan the entire itinerary. She thought taking the ferry ride to Tiburon was a great idea, so I was happy to go along with that plan. What was supposed to be a relatively quick date, turned into a 7-hour adventure. We spent the day getting lunch and enjoying the sunshine on the deck of Sam’s cafe. There was an instant and mutual connection, as the conversation flowed effortlessly and naturally. Eventually, however, we parted ways, and being shy, I neglected to kiss her goodbye. I knew I could not end that night without kissing her, so I met up with her while she was out with her friends … and I made sure not to make the same mistake.
From that evening on, we became inseparable, wanting to spend as much time with and learn as much as possible about each other. About a year after our first date, I proposed to Sivanne while we were on vacation in Nashville. Although I had only known her for about a year, I knew she was the love of my life. As we are in the midst of planning our wedding in September 2015, I am excited by the prospect of building a life together and sharing many more adventures. Thank you 100hookup! Our worlds would not have collided if it wasn’t for you.
