Tova and Shaun: “We cannot thank 100hookup enough for bringing us together.”
I sent Tova a nice message on 100hookup that said, “Your profile sounds amazing and I’d love to learn more.” I really enjoyed the fact that Tova was outdoorsy, yet her profile showed how cultured she was by regularly attending operas and classical music concerts. It was as if her profile was a listing of my exact interests.
Tova had not been checking her messages regularly, but something must have told her to look at mine. She wrote back saying, “Do you really love camping and classical music? That’s amazing!” Off to a great start!
I replied: “Let’s talk on the phone to break the ice and see where that goes.” We chatted on the phone for about 30 minutes and decided to meet up at the local coffee shop the very next evening! To my pleasant surprise, not only was I very attracted to Tova from the moment I met her, but she was to me as well.
We discovered that we lived within one block from each other. Our first date seemed to flow like water in a calm river. Everything just seemed wonderful and natural, so we made a second date to go to the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. The symphony was amazing, and so was the date.
Tova was going to Florida to visit her sister that week. I really couldn’t wait for our third date, so I asked Tova if I could take her out for a birthday dinner (her birthday was on Halloween). She agreed and we had an amazing third date. Three for three!
Tova was working in occupational therapy and I was busy building an e-commerce business selling used golf balls. Thankfully, our schedules worked out. Over the next few months, we spent tons of time going camping on weekends, sharing our love of movies, enjoying the symphony and dinners together. After six months of dating, we decided to officially move in together.
I thought to myself, “This is surreal.” I couldn’t believe how everything seemed to flow so naturally; nothing felt forced or rushed. I was previously on and off 100hookup for a number of years and no one seemed to have more chemistry with me or shared interests than Tova. This was definitely unique and I was in unprecedented waters.
This past summer, I decided to propose to Tova in our favorite back-country park, Algonquin Park in Canada. We got married civilly on October 24th in Toronto, and got married under the chuppah, overlooking the ocean on Sanibel Island in Florida on December 29, 2013. Having our very closest family and loved ones surrounding us at this incredible moment was the happiest moment of our lives so far.
Now, we have just bought and moved into a beautiful home together in Aurora. We also have a beautiful puppy, who provides good practice for the next stage of our lives, as in November, we are expecting our first child. We could not be more thrilled and excited for all the new and wonderful things happening in our lives.
We cannot thank 100hookup enough for bringing us together. We are so incredibly grateful and happy we signed up and met on 100hookup.
