Eden and Jason: “We talked back and forth for awhile on 100hookup…”
About four years ago I was on 100hookup looking around, and Jason and I started talking. We found out that we both had similar careers: I work in EMS and he works as a police officer. We talked back and forth for a while on 100hookup, but then also exchanged emails and phone numbers and continued to stay in touch.
Every time we tried to make plans, our schedules seemed to conflict. After a few months of this we both ended up realizing we were not going to be able to meet up at the time due to our schedules. We both then ended up meeting other people, and for almost two years we were in contact as friends with similar careers, but were both in relationships.
Then, about two and a half years ago, Jason reached out to me to say happy birthday since our birthdays were two days apart. I happened to be single at the time, and I soon found out Jason was just out of his last relationship again as well. We started talking a lot more, and would spend multiple hours each day on the phone talking and texting. During a blizzard that year I was stuck in an ambulance for over 24 hours, and the entire time I was out there Jason would check up on me to make sure I was okay.
Finally he asked me out on a date. Jason came to pick me up and we went out to dinner and a movie. The night was great and we made plans again for the next week. We kept taking turns driving to each other, and kept growing closer.
I then left for a vacation in Cancun with a friend from work. When I got back Jason and I met up again, and one night he decided to invite me over for a home-cooked meal. We sat and had dinner together and then watched a movie. That night, on January 31st, Jason asked me to be his girlfriend. I obviously said yes and our relationship blossomed from there.
We went on vacation that summer to Arizona to see his family and after approximately six months, we moved in together. Jason took me one night to the city to see the “Top of the Rock” at Rockefeller Center at sunset, which is when he first told me he had fallen in love with me.
This past summer I took him to Israel for the first time where he got to meet a lot of my close friends, and we had an amazing trip. Then, on November 30th, Jason decided to take me out to see the Christmas tree in the city and we were going to go get dinner after that. When we got there, he asked me if I wanted to go to the “Top of the Rock” again because it was a better view, which sounded truly odd to me. We finally went up there and I was taking pictures of the skyline, etc. When I turned around, Jason was down on one knee, asking me to be his wife. I said, “Yes!” and now on August 18th 2013, we will walk down the aisle and start the next chapter of our life together.
