Neither of us can remember who sent the first 100hookup message (we both swear it was the other). After messaging back and forth for a bit, one night we finally started IM’ing on 100hookup. We talked for so long that night that my computer started to die, so I suggested we take our conversation to text message.

We texted back and forth all night, talking about everything from our families to the best Chinese restaurants in Manhattan. We had so much fun talking to each other that we decided to meet in person. We planned to meet a week later at a bar in the West Village.

I took a cab to our first date, but the cab driver got lost. I ended up getting out of the cab in front of Magnolia Bakery in the West Village. Steve came and met me there instead. We walked a few blocks together to the bar. After a few drinks, we were having such a great time together that we both cancelled plans with our friends so we could keep the date going.

One year and seven months later, Steve told me he needed to pick up some cupcakes for his mom. We went to Magnolia Bakery in the West Village and after picking out some cupcakes and walking outside, Steve got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was totally oblivious at the time, but he ended up proposing to me in the spot where he saw me for the first time. Steve had hired “Pap the Question” to photograph us before and during the proposal without me even knowing, and those pictures mean so much to us. We both feel like we can relive that amazing moment whenever we look at them.

Many people are embarrassed to share that they met their partner online, but we feel it’s important to be honest and share our story to help remove the stigma of online dating. Without 100hookup, I would never have met the love of my life! We’re getting married on May 4, 2013, and are so thankful that 100hookup brought us together.
