If you are spending this New Year’s Eve in a large city, the pressure to look good can be overwhelming. Hundreds of single ladies are eager to find their midnight romance, but only if they find the right guy! New Year’s Eve is a great opportunity to meet women, but you need to look your best. While women focus on more than just the exterior, the initial response is based on appearance — what else can they judge you by? If you look as if you spent five-minutes getting ready, women will spend even less time with you. Now, the outfit below won’t take more than 15 minutes to put together, but it will buy you some time with the ladies.

Slacks and dress pants are great for the office or your annual holiday party, but for this occasion, it’s best to leave them at home. To complete the outfit, throw on your favorite grey tweed sports jacket. Don’t have one? I suggest investing in the J. Crew “Ludlow Tweed Wool” Sport Coat ($548). This remarkably soft and durable 100% wool-blend sport coat will be great for many occasions and will last you for a number of years.

Finally, we are ready to go. Just throw on your favorite pair of casual shoes, such as the Lacoste “Alisos 7” sneaker. Lacoste is famous for its comfort and unique design to ensure that a simple sneaker will have the function of a dress shoe. This sneaker will be the perfect last piece for your outfit. The textile material matches with the grey tweed sport coat, and will not leave your feat aching.

In an outfit like this, you will definitely notice plenty of ladies staring in your direction. Once you have picked the lucky lady, you are bound to make the right first impression. However, you must maintain her interest.

Women are always surprised when they see a well-dressed man. If she compliments you on your remarkable taste and style, don’t panic! It is important to remain calm and confident. She wants to believe you have the ability to dress yourself in a fashionable matter, so do not say it was a gift, your mom’s purchase, or a replica of a designer’s manikin.

If this is your first New Year’s party with a new group of people, don’t be anxious. If you know the host or hostess, ask her to introduce you to a few of her lady-friends. A group with an even ratio of guys to girls is usually a red flag for a couple’s clique, but a group of ‘single ladies’ should be on your radar.

Whatever you do, don’t stare at that girl you saw when you walked through the door. It’s important to not wait too long – and to not make too much eye contact. You want to make sure you have plenty of time to enchant her with your outfit, and most importantly – your personality, before the clock strikes twelve.
