Marisa and Jared
After a month of unsuccessful 100hookups, I decided to sign up for another month on the site. When I signed in to my account, I saw Jared’s picture, liked his profile and sent him an email. Jared wrote back right away and after messaging on the site for a while, we moved the conversation to AIM. We spent a couple of hours messaging, sending each other songs and even made a plan to get together in late April of 2009. Jared and I met at Rare Rooftop at around 7:30 (Jared was late). We both remember first looking at one another as Jared walked up the ramp to greet me. We had a couple of drinks and, after mentioning that crepes were some of my favorite desserts, we went to a restaurant called Flute to enjoy them.
On our walk home from Flute, Jared and I met a homeless woman named Trish who asked Jared to buy her a platter from the food truck. We dipped our feet in a fountain in the West 50’s and Jared walked me home. After an incredible seven hour first date, Jared sent me a text message first thing in the morning, letting me know he had a great time and would love to get together again. Sure enough, we had our second date on April 29, 2009 and our third on May 4th. We moved in together December 1, 2009 and Jared proposed exactly one year from our second date. After having dinner at Pipa, he asked me to marry him on 37th Street between 3rd Avenue and Lexington Avenue, right by Rare Rooftop (the first place Jared ever laid eyes on me). Then, we walked to his parent’s apartment where our family and closest friends were waiting to celebrate our engagement.
We are getting married at Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, NY on July 23, 2011.
