For a while, I had been interested in joining 100hookup, but was skeptical because it was still “online dating.” However, since I had heard of so many people finding their soul mates on the site, I decided I would give it a try. I’m thankful I did because that is exactly what happened. I found my soul mate.

I had been on 100hookup for about three weeks and hadn’t really sparked with anyone yet. That was, until I received an email from Daniel. He was cute, we lived in the same area of Houston and there was just something different about his profile. I liked that he had pictures of his family and of his dog, which were two very important things to me. For a short while, we emailed back and forth and I found we had a ton in common; here was that spark I had been looking for. Even our dogs’ names, Maverick and Macy, seemed to go together. Soon thereafter, we decided we should meet in person. I was going to a cousin’s wedding that weekend in Florida so we planned to meet the next Wednesday.

While in Florida, I was telling my aunt about the first date I was going to have with the guy I met on 100hookup. She had previously lived in Houston and asked what his name was. I told her his name was Daniel and before I could finish pronouncing his last name, she finished it for me. My aunt had been Daniel’s youth group advisor while he was in high school. She knew both him and his family well and reassured me that I should go on the date!  I asked him about it and, sure enough, he told me that my aunt was a huge part of his youth group experience. I couldn’t help but think that this coincidence seemed like a sign.

The following Wednesday, we had our first date.  We met for drinks at a bar that was between our houses.  I was very nervous, but as soon as he said hello, my nerves turned into excitement. We were both so at ease with each other. There was no silence or awkward moments whatsoever. We talked about so much in such a short period of time.  We were only halfway through the date when Daniel asked me out on a second date! Ever since, it seems we have been inseparable. We are both exactly what the other person was looking for.

Daniel proposed almost six months to the day after our first date. We are planning a wedding for early November of 2011 and, thanks to 100hookup, I really believe I’ve found my soul mate.
