Diane and Nelson
Dear 100hookup,
Nelson’s story: Dear 100hookup.com… I am writing to thank you. I heard about the 100hookup.com web site and decided to give it a try. While I met a number of nice women in my immediate area, there wasn’t that intangible chemistry with any of them. So, I decided to broaden my search from Los Angeles/Orange County to San Diego. Diane’s profile appeared, and I was immediately intrigued by her beautiful photos. Then, when I read her essays, I thought, “I have to meet this woman.”
I sent Diane an email, and to my surprise, she responded. After about a week, we decided to meet. I drove down to La Jolla on Sunday, August 22, 1999. When Diane opened the door, my first thought was “she’s too beautiful to be nice.” Was I wrong! We went for a bike ride and grabbed lunch on the beach. We had a really great time. We continued to see each other once a week, and I just knew that something special was happening.
At the end of September, we decided to date each other exclusively. Diane told me how she had been literally inundated with responses, but was not meeting the “right one.” She told me that right before I sent my email she had decided to take her profile off and take a little break from the dating game. Am I glad I sent that I sent my email when I did! We immediately hit it off. Besides being beautiful, I found Diane warm, smart, and caring, with a wonderful sense of humor.
We had an incredible courtship. We saw each other every weekend and occasionally during the week. Diane is a transplant from Chicago, and her parents came out for Thanksgiving. I didn’t exactly make a great impression. After dinner, I got ill and spent the entire night throwing up. I recovered after a day or so, and we ended up having a terrific holiday weekend together.
Peripherally we spoke of getting married and having children, but nothing specific. In January, unbeknownst to Diane, I started looking for a ring. I didn’t know it until later, but all of Diane’s friends kept on telling her that I was going to propose. In May, we took a trip to Kauai. One night after a romantic dinner on the beach, Diane and I sat outside watching the waves come in, and I proposed. Diane had no idea it was coming, and finally after what seemed like an eternity ( which was actually about 2 minutes), she said YES.
We got married on September 24, 2000. Diane planned the entire wedding, and family and friends flew in from all around the country. The wedding weekend was absolutely amazing. I didn’t feel that nervous on our wedding day. But when I saw Diane coming down the aisle, I started to cry my eyes out. I cried almost the entire ceremony – I just couldn’t believe how lucky I was to being marrying Diane.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to meet my beshert.
Diane story: Nelson was “the one” that I had been diligently searching for 34 years. If it weren’t for 100hookup.com, we never would have met. Thank you is not enough to express my gratitude to 100hookup.com for bringing Nelson to me and making ALL of my dreams come true.
