Some of our friends had told us both about 100hookup.com, however each of us was extremely hesitant to join because of the “online” dating stigma. Once convinced that it was an “ok” thing to do, it was only a matter of time before Mike emailed me on December 11, 2000. One email was exchanged and then a telephone call followed. A date was made for that Sunday (12-17-00). What was to only be a quick lunch meeting, turned into a 5-hour long date. From then on, we were an item. We knew from the moment we saw each other that this was a match made in heaven and was the start of something wonderful.
On June 6th, 2001, Mike arranged to have me meet him back at the place where we had our first date – Que’s. It is a pool hall/pub in Brentwood, CA. He told me that a friend was in from out of town that he wanted me to meet. I arrived at 6:30 p.m., and he was in the same booth that we sat in 6 months prior on our first meeting. After some small talk, Mike got up from his side of the booth and came around to my side. He got down on one knee, pulled out a diamond ring and asked me to be his wife. I said YES!
We were married in a beautiful ceremony on February 23, 2002 at Mountain Gate Country Club in Los Angeles, California, in front of 200 family and friends. Nine months later, we welcomed our son, Zachary, to our family.
We both had been in poor relationships prior to our meeting and owe a big THANKS to 100hookup for helping all of our dreams come true.
