Found love on 100hookup?

Dear 100hookup,

I'm writing to say thank you for bringing Jayson into my life. Although we were living in the same city, I don't think there's any way our paths would have crossed without 100hookup bringing us together. I'm thrilled to let you know that he and I got engaged on June 6, 2008 and are planning a wedding for July of next year.

After a recent breakup and move to a new city, I realized that I didn't know too many people in town -and I certainly didn't know where to find "a nice hookup boy!" After a bit of prodding from my mom, I created a 100hookup profile and paid for a single month, thinking that I would just give it a couple of weeks and see what happened.

I was immediately bombarded with emails from interested guys, which was pretty flattering, I have to say! I went on a few dates and while most of them went well, I didn't feel immediate chemistry with anyone.

One night, I decided to do a little searching for guys in the area to see who I might find.  Jayson's profile came up. I couldn't believe how gorgeous he looked in his picture and I quickly realized that I needed to make a move on the "most popular" guy in my zip code before someone else did. I emailed him to say “Hi.”

We exchanged emails for about a week before Jayson asked me on a very short-notice date on a Friday night. Figuring I didn't have anything else going on, I thought, “why not?” and went to meet him at a bar downtown.

From the moment I met him, I immediately felt that "instant chemistry" that I hadn't felt with any of the other guys I had dated before. Within an hour of meeting and talking, it felt like we had known each other for years. Our date lasted a pretty wonderful 3 hours or so and, when I got home, I knew right away that I had just met the man I was going to marry. I can't explain how or why I thought that, because, in all honestly, Jayson and I barely knew one another at that point. But the feeling of knowing was so overwhelming.

Our first date turned into two the next weekend, and then into the most amazing, adventure-filled, laughter-packed three-and-a-half years of my life! Then last week, just before Jayson and I were about to leave for Seattle on an Alaskan cruise, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.

We're planning on getting married at our city's Aquarium next year, the site of our third (and very successful) date and we could not be happier.  Thank you 100hookup!

Tips for other 100hookuprs:

For me, my best 100hookup move was NOT waiting for a guy to show interest in me. I was the one that made the first "move" and emailed Jayson, who happened to live in the same city (Stamford, CT) as me.

One of the things Jayson liked best about me was my profile picture. Instead of going with the usual basic headshots, my profile pic was me, posing with my aunt's pet tortoise. Who knew that Jayson was such an animal lover? It sparked an instant connection and we definitely had something to talk about on our first date. I liked the easy-going, conversational way Jayson wrote in his profile - I felt like I was speaking directly to him, which made me feel comfortable reaching out to him.
