Susan and Brett
In 2007, when we were both coming out of failed relationships, Brett and I met on 100hookup.
It was the night before Rosh Hashanah when I came across Brett’s profile. He immediately stood out from the other guys but, when I went to IM him, he had already signed off for the night. Somewhat ambitious, I sent him an email, though I thought nothing would come of it. To my surprise and excitement, I came home from synagogue the next day to find a long email from Brett!
After sharing our background history, including some interesting stories of 100hookups gone awry, we both realized quickly that this was not just another chance encounter. We spent the next few days IMing and talking on the phone before agreeing to meet a few days later. That day turned into the longest date either one of us had ever had, ending with Brett introducing me to some of his friends as his “future girlfriend”.
Since then, Brett has become my best friend. From travelling around the world to simply going to the movies, we find the fun in any situation. In December 2009, we moved to Florida to escape the cold New York City winters and continue our quest to live life to the fullest (and go to the beach in February).
Brett asked me to marry him a month and a half after we moved. I was completely surprised that our modest picnic in the park by the water ended in a proposal. Since then, we’ve bought a house together and are eagerly planning our wedding. I cannot wait for May 22nd and to spend the rest of my life with him…my Beshert!
