Fernanda and Joe
Dear 100hookup,
I was exhausted from failing to meet interesting and attractive people through the normal course of dating. After a particularly disastrous blind date, I decided that I would try online dating. I had heard a lot of positive things about 100hookup, so I gave it a shot. Little did I realize that the love of my life was only a few mouse clicks away…
I received an email with a few pictures of girls and was asked if I thought I would Click! with any of them. One particularly stunning woman with long, beautiful hair and a gorgeous blue dress caught my eye. I looked at her profile and she seemed like a very interesting woman. I thought we would Click!, and lo and behold, she thought the same! I discovered that she was online, so I sent her an IM. After talking with this wondrous woman for only an hour, I completely broke with the rules of online dating and suggested that we meet for coffee at the Starbucks in Westwood. While most girls would be scared of meeting a stranger after only talking for an hour, she accepted. A few days later, I met Fernanda and have never been happier.
Fast forward a year of complete bliss. I had decided long ago that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with Fernanda, so I bought an engagement ring and searched for a romantic restaurant in which to propose to her. I had told her a while back that I would never propose in a restaurant, so she never expected that I would actually do it there!
I found a romantic place called Moonshadows, and booked a reservation there. As it turns out, that’s the restaurant where my parents went on their very first date! They have been married for over 35 years, so I knew that place had good karma and it would be the perfect place for the proposal.
The food was fantastic and towards the end of the evening I was so nervous I was shaking. I told her that she was the love of my life and I don’t want to spend another day without her. She thought that I was just being sweet. Then I got up and moved around to her side of the table, she then realized what was going on, and started crying. I got down to one knee and asked her if she would marry me. Then I opened the box, and she started crying more.
Then I realized that she had said nothing.
I took her hand, put the ring on her finger, gave her a hug, and whispered in her ear “you still haven’t answered my question.” She pulled away from the hug and started nodding her head emphatically and whispered “yes, yes, yes!”
Then we kissed and hugged more, she cried more, and some guy towards the side of the restaurant said “Dude, that guy just proposed! What should we do?” And his buddy said “Start clapping!” So the restaurant started applauding and congratulating us.
The next day, we had her birthday party…and a very surprise engagement party.
Thank you 100hookup,
Joe and Fernanda
