Jen & Yoni
Dear 100hookup,
Yoni and I met on 100hookup in late 2004. I had only been a member for a couple months and had dated a friend of his (I did not know this at the time). When it didn’t work out for us, Yoni asked permission to go out with me. We talked online for awhile before I agreed to go out with him. I was really hesitant. He picked me up and took me to a restaurant called Juliana’s, a very special place to Yoni and his family, because they’ve been going there for years. We talked, ate, watched the band play, and then he took me home. We had a great time! We went out a few times after that date, but I still wasn’t ready to commit.
We remained in contact – on and off – for the next two years. We even tried just being friends. But, in July 2006, he invited me to dinner and surprised me with a boat cruise on the Spirit of Chicago. We had only seen each other twice since 2004, so we spent the cruise catching up as old friends. Later in the night, people began dancing and a song came on that I loved, so I asked Yoni to dance. I practically had to drag him on the dance floor! From that moment on, we began dating. On July 10, 2007, he proposed at Gibson’s Rosemont. We were married on November 15, 2008.
Tips for other 100hookuprs:
Be yourself, have a realistic profile picture, and meet someone early on in the relationship. I met numerous guys that I had talked to on the phone for awhile, but the connection wasn’t there when we met in person. So, I think meeting early is definitely the key.
