With users no longer using our chat rooms, opting for social media instead, we decided to remove them. In addition to the lack of use, we found that chat rooms don’t facilitate one-on-one connections, which hinders 100hookup’s aim to help likeminded people find lasting love. Messaging and Chat (IM) are features that are more likely to help our members connect one-on-one, so we’re sticking with those!

100hookup has removed the Color Code Personality Test. We want you to explore our whole community of amazing members, opposed to looking specifically at members based on a compatible color code.

In researching how to improve 100hookup, we learned eCards weren’t especially useful for members. Since they weren’t helping you, we got rid of them! Besides, it’s not the cute printed illustration or clever saying, but what you write that counts. That’s why your 100hookup messages are so impactful — you’re revealing what specifically interests you about another member. Looking for advice about how to start up a conversation? In researching how to improve 100hookup, we learned you felt Icebreakers were impersonal. Since you weren’t using them, we dumped them! With the new site, we encourage you to include conversation starters in your messages — read other member profiles, find intriguing facts, and then send a personalized message showing that you’re paying attention. There’s nothing more attractive than that!

To simplify the features of the 100hookup Inbox, we removed the custom folders. You can still filter your messages by Unread, Sent, Drafts, and Trash.

In addition to the lack of use, we found that message boards don’t facilitate one-on-one connections. Since it is 100hookup’s aim for likeminded people to find lasting love, we encourage you to use our Messaging and Chat (IM) features instead, which are more likely to help our members connect one-on-one.

Our new Search page showcases member profile photos, so there is no longer a need for a photo gallery. You’ll see profile photos right on that page! Look for the green dot on photos indicating that particular member is online. Then, go ahead and send a message revealing what grabbed your attention — maybe it was the color of her eyes, his charming smile or a hobby that interests you as well!

Tall, skinny photos are not ideal on 100hookup, as the profile cards now automatically crop photos in a square. To avoid an awkward crop, we recommend you upload a new photo that is at least 350×350 pixels in size and that is not tall and skinny. A square photo will work, as will a normal portrait or landscape photo with your face centered and some padding between your face and the edge of the photo. You can crop your photos with a photo editor on your computer, or with an online tool like Fotor.

To upload a new photo, visit the Edit Photos page by clicking on your Profile thumbnail in the top right corner of any page.

The full size, uncropped version of your photo will still be seen in the gallery view in your profile. As a reminder, group photos will not work as your main photo. For additional help, reach out to our Customer Service team.

One of the perks of our new design on 100hookup is that images are larger and easier to see! If your photos are very small, however, they might look blurry and pixelated. To fix this, simply upload a new, larger photo. The minimum size is 350×350 pixels.

To upload a new photo, visit the Edit Photos page by clicking on your Profile thumbnail in the top right corner of any page.

“Flirts” are still a great (free) way to initiate a conversation because they indicate your interest. On the new 100hookup, you still have the ability to send a “Flirt”, which goes directly to the member who caught your eye. Simply go to a member’s profile, click the “More” icon (…) below the member’s profile image, and then select “Flirt.”

One of our biggest goals was to make your online dating experience easier. We revised our Search page so that you will see a green dot on a member profile when he or she is online. Additionally, you can set your Search preferences to only show members who are online.

Hot lists no longer exist. You’ll find Checking You Out is a better alternative. You can find this at the end of the menu bar on the top of any page under the Activity tab. These are the members who have viewed your profile, messaged, chatted or Flirted with you. To find the members you’ve been interacting with, go to Who You’re Checking Out, also under the Activity tab.

These are not broken links, rather they are headers to show other pages. Simply hover over them to reveal the dropdown menu of those pages.
