Why can't I see my new photos?

Photos usually take 24 - 48 hours to be approved and posted, so you may have to wait a day or two.

If it's already been that long, they may not be showing up for technical reasons, but this is easy to fix. See below for the problem that seems most like yours, and then follow the simple steps. If you're still having trouble, feel free to call our Customer Care team any time at our toll free number: 1-877-453-3861. If outside the U.S. and Canada, call: 1-323-836-3000.

  1. The newly posted photos don't show up on your computer.
  2. You have AOL and the photos look distorted

1. You can't see the new photos on your computer
This means that you need to delete the old photos that are stored in your computer's temporary memory (cache) to make room for the new ones. (In case you're curious to know why this happens: Each time you visit a web page, the information is saved in the Temporary Internet File. Your computer does this so that when you visit the same page again, it can load the information faster).

Deleting the old photos to make room for the new ones is VERY SIMPLE. So, just print out and follow the steps below. Then you'll be able to see the updated photos that are already available online for other members to see.

For Internet Explorer users:
  1. Click on "Tools."
  2. Click on "Internet Options".
  3. Under the "General" tab.
  4. Go to "Temporary Internet Files" and click on "Delete Files".
  5. Click "OK" and then exit.
  6. Check out your profile and see your new photos!
For Netscape users:
  1. Click on "Edit".
  2. Click on "Preferences".
  3. Click on "Advanced".
  4. Click on "Clear memory Cache".
  5. Click "OK" and then exit.
  6. Check out your profile and see your new photos!
For AOL users:
  1. Click on "My AOL."
  2. Click on "Preferences."
  3. Click on "WWW."
  4. Click on the "General" tab.
  5. Go to "Temporary Internet Files" and click on "Delete Files."
  6. Click "OK" and then exit.
  7. Check out your profile and see your new photos!
If you use AOL 5.0 and you still cannot see your photos:
  1. Click "Start" button on Task bar.
  2. Go to 'Programs" and then to "America Online."
  3. Open up "AOL System Information" and click the "Utilities" tab.
  4. Click the "Clear Browser Cache" button.
2 The new photos look out of focus or blurry
The new AOL web browser compresses the image files. This degrades the quality of your photos on your monitor. Fortunately, this setting can easily be changed. The images will load slower, but it's worth the wait.
Improve photo quality
  1. Click on "My AOL."
  2. Click on "Preferences."
  3. Click on "WWW."
  4. Click on "Web Graphics" tab.
  5. Uncheck the "Use compressed graphics" box.
  6. Click on "Apply."
  7. Clear your computer of your blurry photos by following the "Updating YOUR computer" steps above.
  8. Check out your profile and see your new photos!
