How To Be A Great Dater
When it comes to dating, most people worry about the insignificant things. You stress about what to wear and if you’ll impress your date. When you worry too much about making a good impression, you’re not being yourself. Being a great dater isn’t about impressing your date. It’s about having fun. If you’re enjoying yourself, then you’ll be a great date. Here are ten tips to help you be a great dater!
1. Love Yourself
When you realize how fabulous you are, other people will, too. In order for other people to love you, first you have to love yourself. Dating is only fun if you realize how great you are. Remember, you are a catch and you should be with someone who realizes how special you are.
2. Be Confident
Both men and women want to date someone who is confident. People who exude confidence are sexy and attractive. Being confident is a universal turn on!
3. Know What You Want
Do you know what you want? Identifying what you want and knowing what is important to you is key! Think about the qualities in a partner that matter most to you. Then, look for people with those qualities. Don’t forget to trust your instincts; deep down, you know what kind of person is right for you, but you have to trust yourself!
4. Don’t Settle
Don’t put effort into a situation if you know it won’t make you happy. When you’re dating, you have to remember what’s important to you. Be true to yourself. If you want a boyfriend or a girlfriend, but you’re hanging out with someone who can’t commit, don’t go out with them again. It’s a waste of your time and theirs.
5. Be Yourself
Sometimes, when you meet someone you like, you forget to be yourself. You start worrying about what they think of you and turn into what you think is their ideal match. This isn’t healthy. Instead of turning into an actor or actress, be yourself. Regardless of how good your acting skills are, the real you will eventually come out. Remember that honesty is the best policy, and you deserve to be with someone who likes you for you!
6. Go With The Flow
Being on a date isn’t a good time to be high maintenance. Maybe your water has too much ice, perhaps you’re seated at a table next to the bathroom, or the wine you ordered is terrible. Sometimes, that happens. Everything isn’t always going to be perfect on every date. But, you just have to go with it.
7. Be In The Know
Make an effort to be aware of what’s going on in the world. Everyone wants to date someone intellectually stimulating who can challenge them. Someone who can bring something to the table is sexy. Keep in mind that your date wants to be captivated. Don’t fret; you don’t have to study for your date. But, skim the news so you have something to add to the conversation.
8. Arrive Trouble Free
A first or second date isn’t an excuse to vent about your past relationship, how much you hate your job, or the latest drama with your friends. You don’t have to act like your life is perfect, but there’s no reason to complain. You can tell your date all about you without sounding like you’re part of a Lifetime movie!
9. Ask Different Questions
Be different. Instead of asking your date “how was your day?” ask a question that will make them remember you. You can even try asking what the highlight of their day was. Asking your date unique questions makes the conversation more exciting and allows them to answer with something aside from “It was great, thanks!”
10. Have Fun!
Last but not least, don’t forget that dating shouldn’t be a stressful experience. It should be fun. Do everything necessary to remember that.
Disagree with “go with the flow”
I do not have to be seated next to the bathroom.
I would tactfully request from the manager to be moved to a more appropriate table.
I have done this on a date and made a positive impression as someone who can take control of a situation and improve it.
Noone should have to tolerate terrible wine!
It is the responsibility of the man to ensure the comfort of the woman.
