Well it’s now Valentine’s Day and…YOU’RE STILL SINGLE. Yes? Let’s turn that frown upside down and find you some love. Ok Ladies and Gents, listen up, it’s crunch time. Stand up brush your shoulders off and open your minds up to new prospective relationships. What better way to find a lover than the simply accessible internet?
The first thing on your wish list may not be “get into a serious relationship immediately”, but who doesn’t want to meet new people? Getting up and getting online will help you find your valentine—even if it’s not necessarily on the biggest day of love!
Let’s be honest, chocolates and romantic comedies may keep you occupied as you sit in your room…alone, but it’s nothing compared to having someone to snuggle up to (and feed you those chocolates). Nobody wants to be the girl sending herself flowers at work or the guy whose Valentine is his helicopter Mom. GROW UP and make this Valentine’s Day different.
You have to be proactive. There is NO WAY you are going to find your next relationship in a box of candy hearts or in a romantic restaurant at a table for one. Since it’s a new year and a fresh start, why not do something you haven’t tried yet?
Valentine’s Day, though misconstrued by many, is not about the gimmicks. It’s about being with the person you love. So find that person and your next Valentine’s Day will be filled with a lot more love than chocolates. Trust me, I know love.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
I usually find your articles to be very insighful, filled with practical advice you can follow. This piece, however, not so much – sorry. It sounds like your typical hookup Mother’s nagging: “Go get married! why aren’t you married? all of your friends are married, why aren’t you?”
Meeting new people isn’t a second job. Singles should contribute to the process, but luck & timing are major factors as well, which are not up to us.
Valentine’s day is a christian holiday, the hookup nation actually has it’s own celebration of love during the summer, called “Tu Beav”.
Either way, if there’s no special someone to celebrate with, singles have the right to sit alone in resteraunt, buy themselves flowers or eat fancy candy while watching TV, without feeling guilty or apologizing for it.
One can not love another, unless they love themselves first, right?
