I am the last person on earth that thought that I would EVER put a profile on an online dating service, but sure enough…I did. After years of hearing my mother’s insistence that I give 100hookup a try, I finally gave in, and thought to myself…what’s there to lose?
On a Friday afternoon, I wrote my profile, set-up an account and paid my $39.99 for a month of 100hookup. I could never have imagined that universal destiny was moments away and that my life was about to drastically change.
Within hours, the computer announced to me that “We have your Match.” And there he was: Mitch’s beautiful picture along with his intriguing profile, which captivated my attention immediately upon reading it. I couldn’t even believe I was doing this. But I sent him an initial contact. 100hookup calls it a Flirt. Mitch answered the flirt the following day with a returned flirt. And thus, our story begins.
After multiple emails, I included my phone number and the emailing rose to phone conversations. Our connection was instantaneous. Mitch invited me to dinner the following week and we planned for our first date on December 10, 2008. On the afternoon before our first meeting, Mitch and I playfully texted each other throughout the day. We were both looking forward to meeting. I asked Mitch by text, ‘What if we really like each other…??!” He responded with a simple…”WHAT IF?” I have had that text locked in my phone since that moment.
I arrived to dinner before he did and I sat far from the entrance so I could see him walk in. I still had an available exit and could bolt the other way, if necessary. I watched Mitch walk in and search faces, trying to figure out which one was me. He wasn’t sure so he picked up the phone and dialed my cell phone. This was fun! I didn’t answer, just enjoyed watching him trying to figure out what to do next. He looked up and caught me busting up giggling in the corner and gave me the most incredible smile! He walked straight up to me and kissed me. Our first “100hookup” lasted six hours. There wasn’t a topic that we didn’t cover. He walked me to my car and kissed me good night. I actually cried all the way home. The magic between us was undeniable.
We were together every day from that first date. Eleven days later, I told my mother that I was going to marry this man. Nine weeks after that first beautiful kiss, Mitch asked me to marry him. We were engaged February the 15th!
And here we are… We were married in a beautiful fairytale-like wedding in Sedona, Arizona on August 30, 2009 with 90 of our family and friends in attendance. My mother, who was the one who encouraged me to set up my profile in the first place, had the letter “J” iced onto our Rehearsal Dinner cake!
Mitch and I will be eternally grateful to 100hookup for bringing us together! Who would have thought?!
Sincerely,
Pamela & Mitch
