Dear 100hookup,

Before we met, Bret and I spent over 20 years living ten miles apart on Long Island. Coincidentally, we both moved to New Jersey in 2005. However, we didn’t meet until 2007, when we found each other on 100hookup. We were both on 100hookup about two weeks before we “met” through an email. We had the common bond of growing up in the same place and spoke for about two weeks on the phone and via email, until Bret asked me out on Valentine’s Day. We met one week later for drinks, which quickly turned into a three-hour evening. We went out again the following week and, after that, continued seeing each other once a week for dinner. Once a week quickly turned into twice a week and before long, a standing date for the entire weekend. We had so much in common and connected instantly.

After dating for a little over a year and a half, we planned a trip to Las Vegas, in November 2008. After landing in Las Vegas, we were on our way to the hotel, when Bret said, “You have not one, not two, not three, but four surprises waiting for you at the hotel! This trip will be even better than you’re expecting.” I waited patiently in the hotel lobby as Bret checked us in. Just before we went to lunch, the front desk clerk said that our penthouse suite would be ready soon. I thought we were staying in a regular room – surprise number one. As we pushed open to the door the suite, I saw a bottle of champagne chilling in a bucket of ice on the table – surprise number two. We walked in and explored our enormous room. While out on our 29th-floor balcony, Bret turned to me and said, “Are you ready for surprise number three?” He knelt down on one knee and proposed. I was so surprised! I began to shake and cry, but also managed to say “Yes.” As if the first three surprises weren’t enough, he managed to knock my socks off with surprise number four – Madonna tickets for the show at our hotel in Vegas.

We were happily married on July 11, 2009 in Livingston, New Jersey and honeymooned in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. We owe all of our happiness and success to 100hookup.

Tips for other 100hookuprs:

100hookup was successful for both of us because we entered it with an open mind. I think that the best advice would be to have fun with it and when the right “one” comes along, you’ll know it, just like we did.
