Elana and Marc
Dear 100hookup,
Both Marc and I were about to go on a dating hiatus since we couldn’t seem to find what we were looking for. The rollercoaster ride of dating was getting to both of us. After reading Marc’s email and then profile…we both decided to give it another shot. We emailed back and forth a few times and felt very comfortable. We then talked on the phone, and it seemed like every 4-hour call lasted only 10 minutes. It was truly amazing how much we liked talking to each other and how much common ground we had. It was more than just a normal connection.
We planned to meet at a restaurant in the Princeton area and decided that Father’s Day was a good day to meet — after the family stuff, of course. We were both running late (a personality trait we both share) and pulled into the parking lot at the same time, which was pretty amazing (both a 1/2 hour late), and we parked right next to each other and walked into the restaurant together. It just felt like destiny!
We knew after seeing each other that the phone and email conversations were not a mirage. We were definitely at the beginning of something special. Within the first couple of minutes, we both felt this was for real. Neither of us normally jumped like this, and we both felt like we didn’t want the date to end. As we were driving home, we each knew that we had found our soul mate and future spouse. It was really an amazing feeling. People say when you meet the right person you know it. For the first time in both of our lives, we understand that feeling.
We have spent the majority of the last two months together and went on a cruise in the beginning of August. Marc proposed on the first night of the cruise using lyrics of “The Distance,” by Bon Jovi, sort of as a “theme.” It was a very romantic night, and without a doubt, it’s been the best 3 months of our lives. We are getting married May 23, 2004.
Thank you for helping us find each other.
