Dear 100hookup,
We wanted to tell you the story of our happy ending.
I sent David an email sometime during the summer of 2001. I was charmed by his sense of humor in his clever profile, listing the 10 reasons someone should date him, including the fact that his cat needed a mother figure, and that he had an extensive collection of 80’s music. However, I didn’t hear back from him.
In the meantime, I dated someone else I met on 100hookup. By April 2002, that relationship had ended, and I was just back from visiting El Salvador with a group of young adults form the San Francisco area hookup community. I checked my email and saw a message from David, apologizing for taking so long to get back to me, saying that he had been dating someone but had kept my email in his Inbox all that time. At that point, I didn’t remember much about him, so I went back to check his profile and figured I’d give him a chance.
We went on our first date April 23rd, 2002. Well, things took off from there, and we got engaged on Feburary 15th, 2003, the day after David’s birthday. We celebrated our wedding on July 20, 2003.
