Alexis and Scott
Dear 100hookup,
I had recently broken off an engagement and was ready to get “out there” again. I had heard a lot of wonderful things about 100hookup and decided to give it a try. So, at the end of November, 2002, I signed on for a one-month trial to see who I could meet. Simultaneously, Scott had grown tired of trying to meet women in bars/clubs and, subsequently, decided to join 100hookup for a three-month membership. Each hoping for the best, but not expecting too much, we began our email correspondence with various 100hookup members.
On December 4, 2002, Scott emailed me as a result of viewing my photo and reading my profile. Despite emails with other 100hookup women, something about me stood out above the rest. At the same time, as I was meeting nice men, I was mostly intrigued by one particular member that had contacted me. Scott’s email led me to his profile, which I found to have the most similarity to my own.
Within a few emails, there was an apparent interest and excitement on both ends, which is when the phone conversations began. Our first conversation was over an hour (only cut short by prior commitments on both ends) and filled with laughter and an instant connection on all levels. Each conversation to follow was better than the last, until we knew that we wanted to finally talk face to face. Our conversations had been so enjoyable, and suggested such potential, that we opted for a romantic setting for our first date.
On December 17, 2002, we met at a restaurant known for its intimate ambiance, Mazzi. I arrived first, and when Scott showed up, we were immediately attracted to one another. We agreed that, although we liked each others pictures, they did not do justice for either of us. Dinner consisted of nonstop, comfortable conversation, a lot of laughing and finding out that we had more in common than we had realized up until this point.
Towards the end of dinner, Scott did something that he had never done before. He asked for a second date before dessert was even ordered. The answer, of course, was an excited “yes.” I think at that moment, we both realized we had found something special that we wanted to explore further.
Four dates and six days later, we were discussing (over another romantic dinner) how we would tell all other 100hookup prospects that we were now “off the market.” I was Scott’s first (and last) 100hookup, and his three-month membership came to an end within 3 weeks. I also happily terminated my membership and all other 100hookuprs were soon informed that they would not see me again.
After five amazing months, we found ourselves at Mazzi again. Between this night and our first date, we had fallen in love, not only with each other, but with each others families and the thought of spending the rest of our lives together. As our future wedding song was playing on the piano (per Scott’s secret request), he got down on his knee and asked if I would spend the rest of my life with him. He had made me the happiest girl in the world, and I couldn’t say “yes” fast enough.
On November 9, 2003, not even a year from when we met, we were happily married at The Carlyle on the Green at Bethpage State Park, NY.
In three days, we will return to Mazzi, as husband and wife, to celebrate the one year anniversary of our first date and a lifetime of happiness to come.
We are two people who are forever grateful to 100hookup.
Thank you,
Alexis & Scott
