Melinda and Peter
Dear 100hookup,
I saw Peter Brown’s ad on 100hookup and thought he was attractive. We talked online and on the phone. We got along so well that we decided to meet for dinner. Well, I met my soul mate that night – January 8th, 2004. We knew it instantaneously. We got along even better in person! After our first date, we were basically inseparable. We saw each other every night, and we spoke on the phone and through emails continuously throughout the day. Right from the beginning, it seemed as if we had known each other all our lives. We knew that we had started something special.
On February 8th, Peter surprised me with an adorable teddy bear. When I looked closely, I saw that the bear was holding a beautiful diamond engagement ring! We knew it was right – from the start! We didn’t care how long we had known each other. When it’s right, you just know.
We began planning a wedding, but the actual party-planning aspect was not what we felt was important, and we discussed saying our vows sooner than later. We just didn’t want to wait.
We got our marriage license, which was good for 60 days. We didn’t know which day it would be, but we knew that within 60 days we’d be husband and wife. With his three children and my three children, our schedules didn’t leave a lot of free time to just run off and get married.
Unbeknownst to me, Peter had asked his Rabbi to perform our wedding ceremony on March 8th. In between bar and bat mitzvah tutoring, the Rabbi married us at 8:00 p.m. (Can you tell that 8 is our lucky number?). We share everything about each other, we love everything about each other, and now we belong to each other.
Thank you, 100hookup, for helping me find my future.
Melinda & Peter
