Jenni and Ron
Dear 100hookup,
I met my fiance on November 18th, 2001, when I emailed him for the first time. I had been on 100hookup for about two months and dating the many men who had contacted me. Unfortunately, I wasn’t having much luck with wanting anything more than a first date. When my mom learned that my priority was to find a man who spoke Hebrew fluently (as a result of my love of Israel), she made me a top ten list.
The first man I emailed was Ron Goldman. We had our first date one week later at a Vietnamese restaurant in Long Beach, California. From the moment we set eyes on each other, til we closed down the restaurant 3 hours later, we both knew that we had finally found what we had both been searching for. Ron was 34, and I was 31.
We live in the same city, so dating was really easy. We spent a lot of time looking for delicious food, playing tennis, traveling and navigating academia. Ron is a graduate student in Social Work at CSU Long Beach, and I teach Photography at CSU Pomona.
We introduced each other to the families pretty soon after (his in Dallas and mine in Palm Springs), and in month 9, Ron told me that he wanted to spend his life with me. Since then we bought our first condo, became officially engaged while skiing/snowboarding in Mammoth, and had a casual wedding (with 40 of our closest friends and family) on the beach in Maui on December 21, 2003.
My mom says that when Ron and I are together, we never stop laughing. Life is good for us.
We have definitely spread the word. Since we met, we have introduced 100hookup to Ron’s brother, my brother, my good friend Karen, Ron’s good friend Josh, and most recently my mom. I am reluctant to make her a top ten list since she is so much better at it than me.
We don’t know how our paths would have crossed otherwise, but we both agree that it was meant to be.
I have enclosed one of our engagement photos for you too see.
Warmly,
Jenni & Ron
